Between June 16–22, 2025, the Republic of Moldova hosted a memorable experience for a group of international journalists.
ANTRIM, with the support of the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, the National Tourism Office of the Republic of Moldova, and in collaboration with SkyUp Airlines, organized a familiarization trip dedicated to showcasing the country’s authentic beauty, cultural heritage, and local hospitality.
During the tour, journalists had the opportunity to explore some of Moldova’s most representative tourist destinations, from spectacular vineyard landscapes and renowned underground wineries to cultural and historical complexes and authentic villages, where traditions are carefully preserved.
The experience in Moldova was later reflected in valuable international media coverage. A notable example is the article published in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller magazine, developed in collaboration with SkyUp Airlines, which positions Moldova as an emerging, authentic destination still largely undiscovered by mass tourism.
The article highlights the diversity of the country’s tourism offering, placing emphasis on its natural and cultural heritage, local traditions, and the authentic experiences available to visitors. From Orheiul Vechi and the cave monasteries to renowned wineries and traditional cuisine, Moldova is presented as a place where the past and present coexist in harmony.
The article highlights a Moldova beyond common perceptions, as the authors explore an authentic blend of nature, culture, and living traditions.
The experience included visits to some of the country’s most representative tourist attractions, such as Orheiul Vechi, renowned wineries, and the Saharna and Țîpova monasteries. Participants also discovered authentic rural life through direct interactions with local communities, traditional gastronomy, and crafts passed down from generation to generation at guesthouses such as „Hanul lui Hanganu”, „Eco Resort Butuceni”, „AgroPensiunea Casa Verde”, and „Casa Rândunicii”.
