At the New Deal Europe event, held on March 24, 2025, Elena Stepanov, Executive Director of ANTRIM, presented a new joint tourism package Moldova & Armenia, designed to offer international travelers a comprehensive experience by combining two authentic destinations into a single 10-day journey.
The programme is created in collaboration with local tour operators from both countries, including Tatrabis and Visit Moldova · Incoming Tourism from the Republic of Moldova.
The package offers a combined 10-day itinerary, with five days dedicated to the Republic of Moldova and five days to Armenia, creating a balanced experience that blends culture, nature, and gastronomy.
In the Republic of Moldova, the journey begins with exploring Chișinău, followed by visits to the remarkable cultural landscape of Orheiul Vechi and authentic villages such as Butuceni and Trebujeni.
Travelers are invited to take part in traditional culinary experiences, discover local gastronomy, and engage with authentic crafts, including Bessarabian carpet weaving. The itinerary also includes visits to important historical landmarks such as Tighina Fortress, as well as the autonomous region of Gagauzia, known for its distinctive culture and cuisine.
The journey continues in Armenia, where ancient history blends seamlessly with spectacular natural scenery. Visits to iconic monasteries such as Khor Virap, Noravank, and Tatev offer unique cultural insights, while the vibrant city of Yerevan impresses with its energy and atmosphere.
The programme is further enriched with nature experiences, authentic gastronomy, and wine tastings, as Armenia is one of the world’s oldest winemaking regions.
The tourism package is the result of a strategic partnership between the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association of Moldova (ANTRIM), the Armenian Tourism Federation, and the Strategic Development Agency in Armenia (Strategic Development Agency NGO).
The initiative is developed במסגרת the RECONOMY programme, funded by Sweden and implemented by Helvetas Schweiz, with the goal of strengthening regional cooperation and developing integrated tourism products.
