On the 18th October, at Asconi Winery, took place the ITER VITIS Awards Gala – a prestigious event that celebrates excellence in wine tourism and the preservation of the cultural heritage of wine at a global level. Within these awards, Moldova was recognized for the best wine route.

The “Wine Road of Moldova” route became part of the “ITER VITIS – Les Chemins de la Vigne” network in 2020, offering authentic wine experiences and oenotourism itineraries that encourage tourists to discover the old European wine culture, but also wine traditions , supported by a new generation of winemakers.

Among the winners, the following stand out:

•    Best Wine Museum: Vinseum, Spain
•    Special Award Paolo Benvenuti for the Safeguard of Endemic and Ancient Grape Varieties: Venissa, Italy

•    Best Resilient Wine Tourism Destination: Wines of the Bible – Matte Yehuda, Israel
•    Best Public Institution Promoting the Value of Vine, Wine, and Cultural Tourism Development: Rome Capital City, Italy
•    Best Wine Tourism Communication Tool: AMPV Magazine, Portugal
•    Best Technological Tool for Wine and Cultural Tourism: Thessaloniki Archeological Museum on the Go Application, Greece
•    Best University Research in Wine and Cultural Tourism: Université de Strasbourg, France
•    Most Innovative Wine Tourism Experience: Maison Moet Hennessy, France
